NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
Members of the public who wish only to view the meeting may watch the livestream of the Historic Resources Commission and meetings at 13q6.gabonmagazine.com/granicus and by clicking on “In progress” next to the meeting date, or by tuning in to cable channel 191. Livestream of the meeting is provided solely as a courtesy and convenience to the public. 5.A HRC-2022-0089 For possible action: Discussion and possible action regarding a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors regarding a request for a Historic Tax Deferment on property zoned Single Family 6,000 (SF6), located at 500 Mountain Street, APN 003-241-04. (Heather Ferris, hferris@gabonmagazine.com)
Staff Summary: The subject property may be eligible for the Open Space Use Assessment, commonly known as a Historical Tax Deferment, because of its historical status in Carson City. The Commission makes a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors based on the finding that the property is in general conformance with the Secretary of Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Rehabilitation, Carson City Historic District Guidelines and with the Historic Resources Commission policies.
5.B HRC-2021-0465 For possible action: Discussion and possible action regarding nominations for the 2022 Carson City Historic Preservation Awards for outstanding achievements in historic preservation. (Heather Ferris, hferris@gabonmagazine.com)
Staff Summary: The purpose of this item is to allow the Historic Resources Commission a forum to discuss the selection and recognition of significant preservation efforts in Carson City in celebration of Historic Preservation Month in May.
5.C HRC-2022-0088 For possible action: Discussion and possible action regarding the 2022 Historic Resources Annual Scavenger Hunt and to identify possible volunteer Commission members to coordinate the Scavenger Hunt with Planning staff. (Heather Ferris, hferris@gabonmagazine.com)
Staff Summary: 2021 was the twelfth year of the Historic Resources Annual Scavenger Hunt. The purpose of this item is to review the event, discuss the future of the event, and determine if Commission members would like to volunteer to work on the 2022 Scavenger Hunt.

Public comment will be limited to three minutes per speaker to facilitate the efficient conduct of a meeting and to provide reasonable opportunity for comment from all members of the public who wish to speak.
